Sassuolo CEO Updates on Scamacca to PSG and More Deals

Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali attended the opening ceremony for the start of the transfer market in Rimini and addressed the chatter surrounding their talents to Tuttomercatoweb.

The exec was quizzed about the future of Gianluca Scamacca.

“He has many requests, especially from foreign teams. We met with PSG ten days ago, but then the talks with them stopped. Another club is making a move for him. Atletico Madrid could be a possibility.”

Carnevali stated that Sassuolo would not let go of all of their stars.

“We have received many offers, and that is gratifying, but we have a strong ownership that want to keep growing. We will not sell too many players. We will part ways with one or two, and that will be it. There have been some contacts for Giacomo Raspadori, but nothing serious. The window has just started.”

“We are one of the few teams that has completed a major acquisition. Augustin Alvarez is a young but already an important player. He can cover multiple roles. We could have departures in different positions and we will have to be ready to make up for them with equally capable newcomers. It is not easy, but we will try to be quick.”

The bigwig said they were not after Juventus’ starlets Nicolò Fagioli and Filippo Ranocchia.

“We have not spoken with them today. They are good prospects that need to find minutes. In my mind, it does not make a lot of sense to have youngsters if you do not field them.”
