Marotta Discusses Scudetto, Perisic, Inzaghi and Dybala

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta tipped his hat to Milan for winning the title: “Kudos to them, but also to us. We did not prevail this season, but we have been the best team for points and trophies in the last triennium. We have to keep growing and raise the bar even further. There are the right premises.”

The executive touched on Ivan Perisic while talking to Sky Sport: “We will meet with him soon. As a fan, I would give him a contract immediately. However, you have to be more careful as a director. We wish for a positive resolution because he deserves to stay. I hope there will be the basis to conclude this negotiation that has been going on for months.” According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri will slightly raise their proposal to try fending off Juventus.

Marotta confirmed that Simone Inzaghi would likely pen a new contract with Inter: “His spell has been productive, and it is fair for him not to start the season on an expiring deal. We have some regrets. If you finish second, it means that there is something you can improve. We will discuss with the coach, and we will give him a strong squad. The transfer market will be challenging, but there will be no overhaul.”

The official was asked about their pursuit of Paulo Dybala: “We will see. We will try to take advantage of the opportunities. Some players are available on free transfers, and we will consider them.”
