Monza Shortlist Trio of Reinforcements Across All Fronts

As one of the most active teams in the Italian transfer market, Monza are spearheading the charge to stage an upset in 2022/23 Serie A. The newly-promoted minnows, who will be starring in their first ever top-flight campaign, have completed ten new signings, but they are far from done.

According to Calciomercato, the Biancorossi have shortlisted three players in three different positions, despite having already added riches to the squad across all fronts. Starting from defense, ex-Udinese loanee Pablo Mari, who is owned by Arsenal, is the first name on the Brianzoli‘s crosshairs. The Gunners defender has failed to star regularly at the Emirates Stadium and sees his contract expire in the summer of 2024.

Juventus prodigy Nicolò Rovella is the next name in contention for a move to Monza. The defensive midfielder is also liked by Salernitana, but the opportunity to play for the Biancorossi could be hard to turn down. Product of the Genoa youth academy, his Bianconeri contract also ends in June 2024.

Despite being linked to Napoli striker Andrea Petagna and Atalanta target Andrea Pinamonti, Monza are going after former Inter and Sampdoria star Mauro Icardi. French outlet L’Equipe confirmed that there have been contacts in this regard, with Paris Saint-Germain themselves giving the green light for the Argentine’s departure.
