Luka Jovic has been routinely linked to Inter as a fallback plan for their attack. Their director Piero Ausilio reportedly inquired about him again on a recent trip to Madrid. However, Borussia Dortmund are the clear frontrunners to sign him in the summer, Sport1 reports.
The Serbian striker would like to head back to the Bundesliga, where he had his most prolific campaigns. He would be one of the newcomers brought in to replace Erling Haaland. His contract with Los Merengues expires in 2025. The German side are trying to acquire him on a permanent deal. His price tag figures to be around €20M.
Jovic has struggled to garner consistent playing time in Spain and landed on the radar of Inter and Milan in previous windows. While the Serie A sides expressed interest, he never appeared particularly close to joining. The two crosstown rivals will battle it out to capture Gianluca Scamacca and Sebastian Haller in the summer. Although, they will have to fend off the competition from a few European sides, especially for the Ajax marksman.
According to Corriere dello Sport, on top of Jovic, Borussia Dortmund are after another Inter target, Paulo Dybala. They were one of the first sides to make a real offer. However, they tendered just €4.5M, far apart from his current wages at Juventus and below La Beneamata’s rumored proposal. His entourage released a note yesterday, denying to have come to terms with any club at this stage. However, they did not fully shoot down the rumors.
