These rumors are popping up daily, and somebody must be stoking them. The main suspect is the player’s agent. The capital team surely has the inside track given the situation, and their chase will probably come to fruition either in January or the summer.
It’s interesting that they are pushing for a midfielder with these traits since they already have Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Georginio Wijnaldum should return fairly soon. Mourinho might be cooking up a switch to a three-man midfielder; otherwise, they’d have overlapping skillsets in the role.
