Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali has taken stock of the failed approach by Roma for midfield prodigy Davide Frattesi, mainly due to ecnomic disagreements.

Roma to Launch January Offensive for Davide Frattesi

Roma are working to sign Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi in January after repeated failed attempts to lure the midfielder back to his boyhood club. The Giallorossi are looking to bolster their ranks ahead of the second half of the season and the long-time target is a realistic transfer that could take place.

There are indications that a five-year long contract lasting until 2027 is being prepared in the Italian capital for Frattesi, whose current deal with the Neroverdi expires in June 2026. Roma have a 30% cap on the future resale of the youngster, and could be lured into sending one or more of their talents the other way.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Voce Giallorossa), in addition to the inclusion of Edouard Bove, Cristian Volpato could also be added to lessen the burden of Frattesi’s €30M valuation.

Talks will soon be held before the turn of the year between the management of both clubs in order to boil down to an agreement for the 23-year-old. Napoli are contenders too, and so are Milan, but the Rossoneri‘s interest has cooled down in recent months. However, Frattesi himself is eager to join Roma.
