Shakhtar Donetsk Winger on Juventus Radar as Fallback

Juventus continue to keep tabs on David Neres amid their ongoing attempt to put Angel Di Maria under contract. The Brazilian was tapped as one of the early candidates to replace Paulo Dybala. The Bianconeri have prioritized other leads, but he remains in the picture.

According to A Bola, the Old Lady interfered in the talks between Benfica and Shakhtar Donetsk. The two sides are nearing an agreement on a €10M fee. However, the forward is biding time to see whether he could really move to Turin.

Juventus are willing to spend around the same fee for David Neres, TuttoSport informs. However, they would bid for him only if Di Maria declined their offer. There has been increasing optimism on that front in the last couple of days. Joining Barcelona might be an easier transition for his family. However, they are having trouble registering players they have already come to terms with, such as Franck Kessié and Andreas Christensen. It could be a while before they can sign new ones.

The Bianconeri are willing to wait for El Fideo. On top of his quality, adding a winger on a free would allow them to have a bigger budget for another attacker or a fullback, Alfredo Pedullà informs.

Our Take on Juventus Tracking David Neres

The Brazilian forward would somewhat fall midway among Di Maria, Nicolò Zaniolo, and Domenico Berardi in terms of costs and caliber. The Bianconeri seem all over the place in their chase of a right winger from the economic standpoint, but all options would guarantee a soft landing. They are also eyeing Mykhaylo Mudryk, who would feature on the other flank. A double acquisition from Shakhtar Donetsk without breaking the bank might not be an outlandish proposition considering what is going on.
